Marilee was born in Weymouth, Mass., raised in Del Mar, Calif., and spent the last five years of her life in Las Vegas. She graduated from San Diego State University and became a CPA. Her passion was teaching however, and she changed careers becoming a school teacher prior to starting her family. Marilee was survived by her husband, Dana Demerjian; three wonderful children, Allegra, Andrew, and Kest; parents, Marilyn and Arthur Butt; brother, David Brewer; aunt, Donna Lyons; and uncle, Kenneth Lyons. Marilee inspired many as she courageously battled pancreatic cancer for nearly two years. She was an incredible wife, mother, daughter, sister and niece.

My eyes tear up each and every time I think of Marilee.
She was a sweet person. She is missed. Robyn-
I’d have to ditto Robyn’s comment. While “sweet” may be an overly used adjective in high school (seriously, how many “stay sweet” comments did you get-or give- in our yearbook?) this word truly applied to Marilee.
She NEVER had a bad word to say about anybody and ALWAYS looked on the bright side. We hung together in gymnastics class. After I poorly executed any element, she’d be at the ready with a compliment. “Your legs looked really good when you flew into the horse.” When I read her obit, I cried for her family, knowing they lost a purely good soul and their ultimate cheerleader.
